My day:

Well I'm not sure what I should write about so I will tell you about how today went. I always think to myself, "You never know whose life you could change today." The first explicit example of this happening in my life was today when I learned that the 12 year old male student that i tutor finally likes math and isn't afraid to take the state mandated standardized test. After working with him for the last 2 months on trying to get him to concentrate, focus, and get the correct answers he wrote me a letter. This letter made me smile all the way home. On it he drew a picture of himself smiling saying, " :) Goodbye. Thank you for tutoring me. I will miss you! You are the best tutor ever :). Thank you very mutch." In addition to the this letter he gave me a "chinese mobile" so that I could place in my room and remember him. Since today was our last meeting he seemed very upset and didnt want to let me get in my car to leave. I was just happy to know that i could help someone and change their opinion about a subject that they didnt know was so amazing. I guess it really is true, "You never know whose life you could change today." I taught myself a lesson in all of this without even realizing it. No matter how things are going in our lives we must stop and give what we can to others without our talent. Live life with more compassion and empathy towards people if we want to increase happiness.
